Contains personal and professional correspondence, including some correspondence of other Palache family members; manuscripts of writings on mineralogy, and historical and biographical sketches of the Harvard Department of Mineralogy and mineral collectors; photographs, mainly of scenic or mineralogical subjects and a few of Palache; and certificates and letters of appointment for Harvard and U.S. Geological Survey. Personal correspondence concerns marriage of Helen and Charles Palache and birth of their daughter, Charles Palache's death, family travels in Europe in 1922, and to San Francisco at the time of 1906 earthquake.
